Project design - Opioz projector

DIY LCD Projector with ventilation system

This project was a laborious, costly, but every step I discovered a new way to improve what they had designed. I think that was one of the reasons to be costly.dimensions of the fresnel lens You will doing, going by the experience of success and failure to leave it the way it was designed.

The aim was to develop a DIY projector with excellent quality and low maintenance cost.profile image

Well: With a 15-inch LCD was obtained excellent results. The resolution is 1024 × 768 (native LCD).Detail of keystone adjustment (Keystone) The larger the LCD (in terms of size even) greater becomes the projector (and his room getting smaller). Ahh and the output can be either analog or digital. In my case I used a lcd VGA (analog).

Positives: low maintenance cost and excellent quality of the projected image.
The lamp has a useful life of 10 thousand hours (3mil against average in commercial projectors) and the lamp cost is R $ 50 reais (against an average $ 600 a projector business).

Point s negative: size, weight and the fact that it is recommended to see the images only in the dark (or minimal).
He is big and heavy (see the photos below) and the fact that the LCD has a protective (anti-glare) light rays from the lamp passes through a certain filter missing light. There are people who risk and remove the anti-glare lcd, but not everyone can have the lcd "back".

Note: the photo above project core fans actually are not above the lcd but below (after I drew and designed, I saw that the system was wrong. Hence back and fix)

Well ... This project in question is the second version of the projector.

The first was shaped chest. Developed by the end of the testing phase and I almost burned the LCD due to high temperature it was in (about 45 degrees). Thereafter frogged the chest and made the beveled shape.

Below are the photos of the projector even without finishing:

Now photos projector finalized:

And now some projection images (TV, movie, and I in the middle of the projection):

Note: to project images of tv channels you need a tv tuner. in this case used the AverMedia TVBOX9

That's it. After much effort and dedication I was able to watch a good movie. The funny thing is that in the beginning when you go watch something you do not know if you look at the screen or at the projector.

Not that I know of, but

You might be able to DIY it with an overhead projector and a "digital picture frame"/display. I would look for one at a thrift store or somewhere else cheap (or free) to dismember and see what it's like in them.
Might be even easier to try with an older (assuming you want to save money) computer running a slide show to a LCD monitor's LCD used with an overhead projector.
Google "diy projector" and similar for more low cost alternatives.
You could also just look for a cheap video projector here on craigslist.

  • Avatar Mommy of 2) Where can I find a projector for rent for my project? Not a movie projector.?

Like the ones they use in school that you put an image on and it shows it on the wall. NOT A MOVIE PROJECTOR. You think a library might have one??
I want to paint a mural on my sons wall. I have found murals you can buy online and the one I like is 700 dollers. I printed in on a transparancy and tried to use a a lamp but that doesn't work..

    • You might be able to rent one from a business center. I have rented them for hotel conferences many years ago.
Another option is to enlarge the image you have using the grid system. Draw grid lines in the original …transfer the image, drawing the shapes in each square. For example a 1/2 inch square on the orignal, would be a 6 inch square on the wall. That's the way a professional muralist would do it. That's the way I would do it.

  • Avatar gason2 Recommend a HD tuner for my Projector?

I am looking into getting one of these three 720P DLP Projectors and I will need to upgrade my tuner to handle HD. First off, which of these two projectors would you go with? Would you recommend another? I'm not ready … projection tv to an overhead projector? Thanks.
The reason I'd rather not get 1080P; more $, I'd have to buy a pricey blueray player plus blueray discs and I'd also have to upgrade my dish to HD which is too much

    • I have the Samsung DTB-H260F, works great using HDMI output to my projector:
not get the 1080p Optoma HD20? In stock at Amazon, free shipping:
have a 720p projector, which works well, but I will be upgrading to a 1080p soon. Twice the pixels makes a huge difference, especially if you have a big screen.
