Goodbye Incandescent? | Grau Lighting

February 9, 2011 – 00:00

Now that more and more energy efficient lighting is displacing traditionally called "bulbs" home, I want to emphasize several terms that have accompanied us throughout our lives. Also the "bulbs" for professional use, called "lamps" incandescent, tungsten halogen, quartz, are giving way to fluorescence technologies, LED, download and ceramics.

The first light bulb Thomas Edison - 1879

fluorescente es por naturaleza soft, suave, difusa, y por mucho que nos empeñemos no vamos a conseguir un haz concentrado, dado que para obtener una proyección puntual la fuente de luz debe ser lo más puntual posible. Each of these technologies has its strengths and limitations, for example fluorescent light is naturally soft, soft, fuzzy, and as much as we try hard not going to get a concentrated beam, as a projection for point source light should be as timely as possible. If you take a look around you will see that the fluorescent light is a cylinder or white sphere the size of a fist, at least. Come on, you would need a huge parabola to redirect the light.

LED es todo lo contrario al fluorescente, es un punto diminuto de luz concentrado al que se le tiene que poner una microlente para abrir su haz. The LED is the opposite of the fluorescent, is a tiny point of concentrated light that you will have to put a microlens to open its beam. Although technology is the most saves for low power consumption and long life, beating the fluorescence in both cases, it also has its limitations LED's small have high heat dissipation and hence look many panels matrix, light and savers , but with a limited range of projection. As we increase the power of a single LED we increase further its heat output and cost. This technology is changing day by day.

From a technology known as HMI (Osram trademark) and is commonly known as a download, we can say that it is very expensive and emits UVA, UVB and UVC as harmful to us, obviously your system projectors have to protect ourselves from these rays . Allows working with very small fonts from 125W to 18kW very large. Be the size it is, we are talking about light sources. Ideal for outdoor when it must compete with the Sun

descarga cerámica o descarga fría. A technology that is going strong in architectural but apparently not off in film and video is downloading cold ceramic or download. This technology is similar to the discharge or HMI but uses the principles of fluorescence. The grace is that with a small modification to the HMI device can use this type of lamp and ... get with a single device download download daylight 6000K and 3200K. Currently this technology is only valid up to 400W but modern devices are already compatible.

After as I was saying at first, little by little we are saying goodbye to the incandescent to make way for new greener technologies or not. But remember this is technology that gave us Mr. Thomas Edison with several words with which we have described in their lifetime.

Advice Needed for Projector

Hi - I need some advice. I have an exhibition coming up & I need to project a video animation. I need to use a multi-media projector, but can not afford to buy a new one (& rentals for 1 month are extremely expensive). Does anyone have any ideas of where I can find a great deal or any other alternative for getting this type of equipment for a reasonable price???? Thanks.
